Erik McLellan

Erik was born and raised in southern Maine, growing up in the small town of Litchfield, where his Mom still resides in his childhood home.  After finishing high school, Erik spent his formative years attending Babson College, outside of Boston, MA - it was there he majored in Entrepreneurship and Information Systems.  After spending nearly 9 years in the city and the computer consulting world, enjoying runs around the Charles River and Boston sports, he moved to Maui in 2005 to pursue new opportunities.

Shortly after moving to Maui to manage and help grow a zipline company, Erik had the good fortune of meeting his future wife, Jessica.  Jessica had grown up on Maui and was a high school classmate of the friend he moved to Maui to work with.

Erik spent over 17 years as General Manager of Skyline Hawaii (www.skylinehawaii.com), helping to grow one of Maui’s premiere tourism companies from 7 employees to over 120.  While he spent his time in the tourism world, Jessica was busy growing her passion as an interior designer after getting her design degree.  She was also busy fulfilling her dream of opening a home furnishing store on Maui.  That business, HUE (www.mauihue.com), has since grown to three locations across the island over the past 10 years and is thriving.

Erik decided to leave the tourism world in 2021, and it was at that point the two thought it would be a great time to find a way to work together.  With much of Erik’s family still in the Freeport area, it seemed like an ideal location to look at opening a similar business - Bow Street Home was born in the summer of 2021, just steps away from the world-famous LL Bean flagship store.

Erik and Jessica live with their two youngest kids in beautiful Kula on Maui, but have recently been spending more time with Erik’s family and the business back on the East Coast.  In addition to being a licensed Realtor® with Island Sotheby’s International Realty, Erik is also an individual member of 1% for the Planet, Vice President of his son’s school board at Carden Academy of Maui, and a Director on the Board of the Haleakala Conservancy (www.haleakalaconservancy.org), which is a non-profit dedicated to supporting philanthropic outreach for Haleakala National Park.
